I was craving for a chick with some kick-ass headgear so this is my start.

I started it during a streaming (and recorded it) so you can check out the entire process (I recommend fast-forwarding a bit since this took me 100 minutes or so)

I'm planning on finished it but I don't want it to loose the painterly and vivid style too much. I'll try to stream the next step as well.

Hi Mittch! I enjoyed watching and I think the design looks really cool so far!

I would suggest to focus mostly on the face area (nose/mouth and headgear around that area) and detailing that as a vocal point and the viewer will fill in the rest.
I think by doing this, you will keep that painterly style you already have now. Some parts, like her shoulder gear/dress and the top of the headgear already look really nice the way they are!

Dunnow, just thinking out loud as how you could preserve that painterly feel, as I'm struggling with style and stuff myself as well. I'm just really into that whole vocal point thing (as you may know already :P) ever since I went to the states, really made a lot of difference for me.

Good luck dude, I'm sure it'll be awesome!
